Aloe may be used internally where a powerful cathartic is needed. In small dosage it increases the menstrual flow. Externally the juice is used fresh for minor burns, sunburn, insect bites, ect. *CAUTION* As Aloe stimulates contractions, it should be avoided during pregnancy. As it is excreted in the mothers milk, it should be avoided during breastfeeding, or it may be purgative to the child.

Aloe vera Aloe is an external remedy for minor burns. The gel inside the leaf can be used straight from the plant.
